I love leg day. It’s really the only lifting I love to do. Anything upper body really doesn’t do it for me like a good, hard, burn of the leg day. You know the workout that is so hard that flight of stairs feels like the Harvard steps and the toilet seems a lot shorter than it was yesterday.
Feel that burn.
I did not do right by my legs today. It was a crazy morning and I’m on day 4 of the never ending headache. I broke the cardinal rule of muscle love…I didn’t have any protein after my workout. I actually didn’t eat much at all today. I am terrified of the soreness I’m going to feel tomorrow considering how my legs are burning right now.
Hopefully a run tomorrow will help all that lactic acid get moving 🙂
I’m feeling skinny and feeling like I look better but the numbers aren’t changing. The truth is the feeling is more important than the numbers.
Keep on truckin’ you all.
I know I’m not the only one who does this, well at least I hope. I can honestly say I love working out. I love lifting, running, sweating and the burn. However it always takes me a few tries before I really get in the swing of things. I also have never had to schedule workouts around 3 other people. I’m coming up on freedom in another 2 months (the end of breast feeding is near:)). Of course we can’t forget about BEACH SEASON…Bahahahahaha. Most importantly I’m so extremely uncomfortable and unhappy with the way I look and it’s really starting to have a big impact on me.
I came back to exercise way too fast after J1 and my stomach muscles still bother me if I do too much ab or core work. I mean I did have two kids in two years and I am by no means fat. I’m on my last leg of weight loss and I would love to get really fit again. Earlier in this blog I was all about the exercise. I actually did really well until someone or sick or my husband had a work trip. Something always throws off my schedule. So I think it’s time…time to get up before the kids…gulp.
I am NOT a morning person and coffee has become a permanent staple in my morning routine and I actually enjoy it. I’m going to have to enjoy it a lot more if I am actually going to get up at the ass crack of morning to get moving. At least I have a new workout partner. Bubba!
My dog has gotten FAAAATTTTT! We got him fixed in August and J1 has also figured out that he can feed Bubba the food he doesn’t want since then as well. This dog is a fatty and he needs to get his sexy back so he doesn’t look like a sausage with legs. So big game plan is to get up early and walk the dog and I’m hoping I will just start working out after the walk since I’m up already. This all may be wishful thinking but we will find out Monday.
On a heavier note I am looking forward to Chinese food tomorrow! It’s our Easter tradition 🙂
My sexy husband is making a big breakfast the Chinese for dinner. Glow in the dark Easter egg hunt for the boys and then…(drumroll) The Walking Dead!
Every one is going to die I’m so stressed out!
I am constantly on the hunt for quick workouts that get the job done. I love P90X but I can not always fit an hour workout into my day. I do my have my nights free anymore because of Anchors & Arrows so I have to fit a good workout into about 20 minutes. I just found a blog Melissa Bender’s Fitness and tried a few workouts…fantastic! I tried the 15 Minute HIIT Workout and holy moly it was tough. Keep in mind I’m a little out of shape but most of her workouts are body weight so no equipment and you can add weights I you have them. I have also been wandering Pinterest for workout ideas and came across a beautiful squat/burpee pyramid. I only got halfway through 🙂 but next time I WILL finish the whole thing. Here is the Burpee Workout from Hell. Burpees suck but they work. 🙂
I have been incredibly busy. Remember that workout crap I posted at the start of this whole thing? Well that took a turn for the worst! I would say it took a back seat but that is modest. I think I kidnapped it and have had it captive in my metaphorical trunk (take that however you would like…I think any meaning would apply). So the hunt is on over the winter to find an affordable double jogger. I think J1 and J2 would enjoy that. Anchors & Arrows is still on the ground floor. I’m working on promoting myself which has been a challenge, but if it wasn’t hard everyone would do it.
On a lighter note I am PUMPED for Thanksgiving…fatty loves her food! Speaking of food I will be sharing more Pinterest recipes soon! We have tried a few since my last post…haven’t ha a bad one yet (knocking on wood as we speak).
It’s time to bring the pain…in other words the post baby workouts start now. I just had my youngest little man about 4 weeks ago. A month old already! I have had two babies 16 months apart. Lucky for me I only gained 18 pounds with each little love nugget. After I had my oldest I started working out too soon and way too extreme. I decided to choose a different strategy this time hoping I can bounce back to my once hot body minus the perky boobs because the only way to lift these warlocks is going to required a plastic surgeon or a forklift. Anyways…
I do not gauge my progress by weight. I think it is a horrible mind f*#% for women. I am also a more muscular build and tend to gain weight (in the form of lean mass) pretty easily. I like to take measurements because I can really see the difference. I also have a dress that I would like to fit in for the Marine Corps Ball in November. I’m going to use that dress as a goal because I really don’t have an ideal size in mind I just want to feel SEXY! Who doesn’t right? I mean let’s face it sweats and not showering til after 2 somedays does not boost your confidence but sometimes two babies just win that battle.
I am starting the 100 pushup challenge, I’m very curious to see if it works. http://hundredpushups.com/
I am also doing 30 minutes of cardio a day. Walking is my favorite but it is too hot for the little men and my wonderful husband works a lot in order to keep us comfortable. So a nice walk is not going to happen most of the time. I bought a $5 dollar jump rope to substitute.
I will try to check in with measurements every two weeks.
In the words of two wise men “wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle, I work out”.
